Women's Health

 

Annual examinations are recommended for all women who are or have been sexually active. All Well Family Practice offers the following examinations:

Pap Smears

 

  • Royal Australian College of GP recommends pap smears every 2 years from age 18 years     

  • National Health Service in the UK recommends pap smears every 3 years from 25-49 years and every 5 years from 50-64years.

  • Hong Kong Department of Health recommends pap smears annually for two consecutive years and if both results are normal, cervical smear every three years thereafter. Target population being those aged 25 to 64 years who had sexual experience, women at or over 65 years old and had sexual intercourse but never had a cervical smear before, women below the age of 25 who have risk factors of cervical cancer.

Pelvic Examination

- Ultrasound scan of pelvis might be recommended by our family practitioner.


Breast Examination

- Mammogram and/or Ultrasound scan might be   recommended by our family practitioner.           

 

  • Royal Australian College of GP recommends mammogram every 2 years from age 50 years           

  • National Health Service in the UK recommends mammogram every 3 years from age 47 years – 73 years
